St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Mission
One God--many names, One Son--many paths,
One Truth--many faiths!
From Ancient Roots - A Church for Today and Tomorrow
St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Mission has been developed as a true church of Christ’s believers in the
modern world. We are a church for today and tomorrow. In the ancient times the God of Moses ruled
as the kings did – and eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Our God of Jesus showers mercy,
compassion and love upon anyone who requests his sacramental grace, regardless of gender, age,
race, sexual orientation, marital status, financial means and social status.

In Mary Magdalen’s gospel it is written, “He commanded us, and preach the gospel, not laying down
any other rule or other law beyond what the Savior said.” It is here that we obtain our wisdom and
soul for this mission. Jesus Christ presented to us the essence of God’s real law: “Love God with all
your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and ‘Love your
neighbor as yourself.” These two greatest commandments encompass and replace all others and
reveal themselves as the true message of the Creator for the modern world.

Still today, many churches of denomination retain the ancient practices of regal rule by monarchy.
Over the many centuries they have developed into vast levels and layers of court placing even the
presbyter in a position of authority and height over the faithful. We recognize that  structured
hierarchy no longer exists within the modern world. Everyone is part of the whole, each no better
than the other. We are all servants of God who achieve his love and salvation by feeding the poor,
giving drink to the thirsty, clothing the naked, visiting those in prison, and welcoming strangers to
our ministry.

As followers of Jesus we are all members of the royal priesthood, acknowledging our true faith by
receiving the Holy Spirit in Baptism and Confirmation. Together in congregation we possess the
ability to ask the Holy Spirit to consecrate the Eucharistic meal of bread and wine into the very body
and blood of our Lord Jesus.  Each of us has a direct line of communication with God, Father and
Mother of us all, Jesus Christ the God, the Holy Spirit and all saints and angels.

A structured hierarchical church requires vast amounts of financial support to sustain itself and its
brick and mortar. In 1 Peter 5, the Holy Apostle gives wonderful advice to the early presbyters that
seems to be all but forgotten by many churches today. “Tend the flock of God in your midst,
overseeing not by constraint but willingly, as God would have it, not for shameful profit but eagerly.
Do not lord it over those assigned to you, but be examples to the flock. And when the chief shepherd
is revealed, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.” The ministers of St. Mary Magdalen
Catholic Mission are bound to place profit directly into the mission, foregoing any compensation
other than a possible housing allowance as seen fit by the Mission Council.

Most importantly, St. Mary Magdalen’s is neither patriarchal nor matriarchal.  Thank God, modern
society no longer dictates that women were created out of Adam and should remain in their place,
servants to man. Men and women will stand together as equals in all ministry as servants to God and
his people.

And lastly, we are catholic (universal) and interfaith. We believe that the Creator of many names is the
universal common denominator. We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son is the universal teacher of
love and forgiveness whose essence is present along the road of many paths. We believe the Holy
Spirit is the universal truth and spiritual guide of many faiths.
